Deputy Chief Minister to Inaugurate 1st “Innovate in Tamil Nadu (IN2TN) IP Conclave”
Chennai : The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. Udhayanidhi Stalin will inaugurate the 1st “Innovate in Tamil Nadu (IN2TN) IP Conclave” at the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai on July 30, 2025. The Conclave “Intellectual Powerhouse: Transforming Tamil Nadu into the Innovation Capital of India” and hosted by Tamil Nadu Technology (iTNT) Hub aims to foster industry-Academia collaborations.

Tamil Nadu to Host ‘IN2TN IP Conclave’ to Boost Innovation and Tech Transfer
To establish Tamil Nadu as an IP capital, and to promote IP commercialization by facilitating technology transfers between academia, researchers, innovators, and startups & industry, the Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology & Digital Services Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan made an announcement in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in June 2024 that the Government will organize an “Innovate in Tamil Nadu (IN2TN) IP Conclave”.
“Intellectual Property (IP) is the cornerstone for Deep Tech and Emerging Tech startups. Over the last three years, Tamil Nadu has been the leader in patent filing in India with 20,000+, mainly driven by Deep Tech innovations. IN2TN is curated to enhance IP awareness; facilitate tech transfer; promote IP commercialization; showcase innovations & encourage collaborations,” Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan said.
IN2TN brings together researchers, startups, incubators, industry, investors, policy makers and decision makers for experts talks, fireside chats, panel discussions, masterclasses, innovation showcases & technology pitches. “Creating & leveraging IP; bridging the knowledge & industry gap; and strengthening Tamil Nadu’s IP framework are among the outcomes of the Conclave, which will set the tone to ‘Innovate In Tamil Nadu’”, Thiru. Brajendra Navnit, I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government for IT&DS Department stated.
“World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Indian Patent Office (IPO), AICTE, National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), NASSCOM, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, India (C-DAC), Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Indian Science Technology & Engineering facilities Map (I-STEM), Bosch, Mahindra and Mahindra and National & Global investors are collaborating with us for the IP Conclave,” iTNT Hub CEO Ms. Vanitha Venugopal said.
The Conclave is also studded with launch of landmark initiatives to benefit a cross-section of the Deep & Emerging Tech innovation ecosystem of Tamil Nadu. A salient feature of the conclave is a day-long Masterclasses exclusively for researchers, students and startup founders on 1) the Basics of IP Filing and Protection; 2) IP for Startups: Protecting Innovations; 3) Copyrights and Trademarks: Protecting Branding and Creativity; 4) Licensing and Commercialization of IP; and 5) Emerging Trends in Tech Patents: AI.
