What inspired you to introduce technology and AI into a salon business?

I have always had a strong interest in technology and systems. For me, technology is not about making a business look modern; it is about creating structure and consistency. 

In the salon industry, I noticed a common problem — customers often feel uncertain about pricing and services. Many people walk into salons without knowing what the final bill will look like. This hesitation sometimes creates mistrust. 

When we started GK Studio, my goal was simple: customers should receive clear and honest information before the service even begins. Technology became the natural solution to make that possible. 

GK Studio is known for introducing a length-based pricing model. Can you explain that? 

Yes, we were among the first salons to introduce a clear length chart for hair services

Hair services like smoothening, keratin, or botox naturally depend on hair length, but traditionally salons do not communicate this clearly. Customers often only find out the exact price at the billing counter. 

We wanted to change that. 

By introducing a length chart, customers can understand in advance how pricing varies depending on hair length. 

Over time, many salons have copied this idea, which is completely fine. Good ideas should spread across the industry.

However, what cannot be copied is the intent behind it. 

For us, the length chart was never just a marketing tactic. It was introduced to genuinely remove confusion and make pricing fair and predictable for customers. 

How does AI fit into this philosophy of transparency? 

As GK Studio expanded and we opened multiple outlets across Gurgaon and Delhi NCR, the number of daily customer enquiries increased significantly. 

Customers often message us regarding: 

● service details 

● pricing 

● branch locations 

● appointment availability 

Handling all these queries manually can lead to delays or inconsistent responses. 

That is why we introduced an AI-powered chatbot trained specifically for salon conversations

The chatbot provides instant responses with accurate information about services, pricing, and branch details. This ensures customers receive clear answers without waiting. 

At the same time, our team continuously monitors conversations. If a situation requires human judgement or assistance, our team immediately steps in. 

Did you personally work on building the AI chatbot system? 

Yes, this system was my vision. 

I have no hesitation in saying that in the early days I personally handled customer chats myself.

I would start my mornings by checking messages, handle office work during the day, and then review chats again at night. 

Through that process, I understood the types of questions customers ask, where they feel confused, and what kind of responses make them comfortable. 

Because of that experience, today I clearly understand what the chatbot should say in different situations and how conversations should flow

When building the AI system, I used those real experiences to train it. 

To be honest, I gave everything I had while building this system, because I knew that if it worked properly, it would significantly improve GK Studio’s customer communication. 

Did you face challenges while developing the AI chatbot? 

Absolutely.

I spent more than a month working day and night to train chatbot workflows. Every service needed structured responses, triggers had to be tested, and conversations needed constant improvement. 

There were days when the process felt extremely frustrating and I even thought about giving up. But persistence is a big part of entrepreneurship. 

I knew that if the system worked properly, it would improve both customer communication and operational efficiency at GK Studio. 

What difference has the AI chatbot made for customers? 

The biggest change has been speed and consistency

Customers now receive instant replies that are professional and clear. They do not have to wait for a human response, and they receive structured information about services. 

Another advantage is consistency. Human responses can sometimes vary depending on workload or mood, but AI provides the same clear information every time. 

Many clients appreciate the fact that they get quick and precise answers without unnecessary back-and-forth.

How has technology impacted your team? 

Technology is not meant to replace people; it is meant to support them. 

Today GK Studio has around 50 team members, and I feel proud of the team we have built. 

Automation helps reduce repetitive queries so that our staff can focus more on delivering excellent customer service inside the salon. 

For me, seeing my team grow and creating stable opportunities for them is one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. 

What is your long-term vision for GK Studio? 

Our vision is simple — combine honest pricing, strong systems, and technology to create a salon experience customers can trust. 

From introducing the length chart to building AI-powered communication systems, our focus has always been on improving transparency and customer experience. 

In the coming years, we want to expand GK Studio across India, serve more clients, and create opportunities for many more professionals in the beauty industry. 

Building a brand is not just about opening more outlets — it is also about generating employment and helping people grow with the company

If we can scale while maintaining transparency and quality, we believe GK Studio can become a strong salon brand across the country.
