About Nikhilesh Tayal

Nikhilesh is a serial entrepreneur, filmmaker and alumnus of IIT Kgp. His first startup was CvBhejo –  a mobile based recruitment platform. The startup was funded by marquee investors. 

He then learned filmmaking and created Ads for brands like Amazon, Shell India, VIP Bags, Dabur, Hindustan Times etc. He then converted this into a global marketplace for creating videos – Vidsaga.

He self-learned AI and also recently founded – AI ML etc – an educational space to learn AI +LLM easily and faster.

His startup journey is covered by almost every major newspaper of India like Time of India, Economic Times, Hindustan Times, Indian Express, Rajasthan Patrika, Dainik Bhaskar, Bloomberg TV etc.

Recently, he was felicitated by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan for taking various startup initiatives in the state.

The idea of AI ML etc – How it started?

When we asked Nikhilesh about how it started, he has explained us about the idea of AI ML etc:

When my previous startup was badly impacted by Covid, I started exploring other options. This is where I started learning AI/ML. This was before the ChatGPT era. 

My initial aim was to build a tool/ product around it. However, I could not figure out a problem that I wanted to solve, or have interest in.

During this time, when I used to talk to my friends, I used to tell them that I am learning AI currently. Few of them got curious and asked me questions and I explained those concepts.

Then 2-3 people casually told me – why don’t you start teaching this. Though they told me casually, I found it as a good idea as I was enjoying teaching them and at the same timeI I identified a problem.

The problem with AI education currently is that AI has grown at a tremendous rate and because of this most of the AI taught concepts are irrelevant now.

For example, with the advent of Large Language Models, you don’t need to learn complete NLP. A basic knowledge would suffice you to do most of the industry work.

Currently, most courses offered are of 6 months, 9 months, 2 years and they are simply wasting learner’s time just to make more money.

And that’s why I started reimagining AI education and started this space to learn AI easier and faster.

What products/services you provide at AI ML etc?

Currently we provide instructor-led AI+LLM coaching for working professionals and teach the technical concepts in a very simple language in just 4-6 weeks. We have designed a practical course that covers Basics of AI to go to cutting-edge LLM concepts.

We have prepared 3 valuable courses:

1. Practical AI + LLM course

This course is ideal for IT Tech professionals, Dev Ops Engineers, Product Managers, Entrepreneurs, etc. The pre-requisite for the course is Python.

2. AI + LLM for IT functional people

This course is for IT functional people like Entrepreneurs, IT consultants, IT Sales, IT Marketing, Project Managers, Business Analysts, etc. As the AI industry will grow, it will not only need Technical professionals but functional experts as well.  This course would teach AI+LLM without any coding and prepare them to take functional opportunities.

3. Applied LLM 

This course is a spin off the first course and is for people who know AI/ ML but just want to learn LLM

What were the problems/challenges you faced up to this date? How did you overcome them?

We faced multiple challenges. I would like to mention few:

1. When we hear AI, a very hi-tech vibe comes.
   A general perception is that to learn AI, we need to be excellent in coding. We have to educate our users that AI a knowhow of basic Python is sufficient to learn AI, ML and LLM.
2. We can’t learn AI in 1.5 months
   This is the most common apprehension we hear. Learners can only experience this once they attend a demo class and then 3-4 more classes. Where other courses take months to complete Supervised learning, we will be done by that time and learners actually create a practical ML model by the end of 4 classes.

What are the Future Plans for AI ML etc?

• Short term plan is to add an LMS and AI-based evaluation system.
• Medium term plan is to make gamified content to make learning AI, ML & LLM easier. We have started working towards it.
• Long term plan is to become a go-to platform for working professionals to upskill themselves.
