Success Story of Himanshu Laul: Managing Director at Rayna Tours and Travels
The business world has an ever-dynamic landscape where the tales of success and survival stem from the most unbelievable quarters. Meet Himanshu Laul, an architect-turned-entrepreneur who joined Rayna Tours and Travels during the pandemic and later played a pivotal role in sustaining the company’s reputation and elevating its growth. From implementing innovative marketing solutions to redefining the company’s strategies, see how Himanshu became a major driving force behind the company’s unparalleled triumphs in one of the most challenging phases.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Born in 1988, Himanshu Laul was brought up in Delhi, India’s capital city. After his school education at Summer Fields School, Delhi, he embarked on one of the most significant phases of pursuing his graduation in architecture (BArch) at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee. IIT’s rigorous architecture curriculum, together with exposure to the finest faculties, fueled his creative thinking and laid the foundation for a remarkable career.
ARCHITECTURAL ROOTS AND BUSINESS EXPERIENCES
Following the completion of his five-year graduation course in 2011, he ditched the conventional route of working with an established firm to gain experience in the industry. Instead, he took a more audacious path to launch an aesthetic art café in Delhi, known as Kuzart Lane, inspired by his friend’s mother’s culinary prowess. This unique venture seamlessly combined Himanshu’s architectural ingenuity and flavorsome gastronomic delights. It didn’t take long for this café to resonate with the city’s cosmopolitan audience and vibe, making it a local sensation in a brief period of time. Meanwhile, he also expanded his entrepreneurial footprint to Dubai as he founded and managed Laully DMCC until 2019.
JOINING RAYNA TOURS AND TOURS AT THE PEAK OF THE PANDEMIC
Himanshu has had a long-lasting friendship and professional camaraderie with Rayna Tours and Travels’ founder and then CEO, Manoj Tulsani. Together, they envisioned launching a Rayna Tours branch in London, UK. But as fate dictated a different script, the duo’s ambitious plan was temporarily shelved and didn’t take off; instead, Himanshu joined the company’s head office in Dubai as the director of business during the zenith of the COVID-19 spread in March 2020. By this time, the company had closed for an unspecified period in adherence to government rules. However, it was when he brought his blend of creative vision, professional qualifications, unmatched business acumen, and lessons from running past businesses to the forefront, thus becoming largely inevitable in steering the company forward in this period of adversity and uncertainty.
WEATHERING THE CHALLENGING TIMES WITH SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS
Amid the most challenging times, Himanshu cast off conventional, tried-and-tested marketing techniques and rather unveiled inventive strategies grounded in authenticity. He leveraged the power of organic marketing and prioritized creating meaningful content that engaged the potential audience on a profound level. Contrary to aggressive and pushy sales tactics, he effectively utilized social media channels to forge a more intimate, personal, and stronger connection with the travel community. The outcome spoke volumes as these social media platforms saw a substantial follower surge with more positive reviews and rankings online. Thus, he successfully laid a strong groundwork for the company’s sustainable growth in the second round through his natural and empathetic approach. It not only helped the company to captivate their loyal fans and travel lovers in this unprecedented time but also incredibly boosted its brand value and recognition.
