Optimize free social media sites by having an account for each one. There is no point only focusing on Instagram because if that fails, you won’t be gaining any traffic. Some of the most popular social media sites are Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Linkedin. Make sure you’re creating content for each platform and tailoring it to each audience. Instagram typically houses a younger audience (14-29), while Facebook has users aged 18-50. Use content that will appeal to each audience. Make sure each social media site is linked to one another too. You may want to run an Instagram giveaway, but promote it on Twitter as your following may migrate over!

Be Consistent 

When you’re posting on social media, be consistent. Don’t post 10 posts one day, then go missing for a few weeks. Be consistent with your posts, and update your followers regularly. You may want to post at specific times of the day or have a “Motivation Monday” post. Be original with your posts as this will attract more traffic to your social media and website. You don’t want to follow every other business. You can schedule content if you’re busy and don’t have time to constantly update your feed. There are numerous scheduling tools, such as Hootsuite and Tailwind

Engage With Your Audience

One of the best ways to grow your business is through interactions. Reply to comments and messages, comment on other people’s posts, and follow similar accounts. When you support bloggers or other businesses, they’re more likely to follow you, bringing their following over too. Engaging with your audience has the potential to grow your following by 25 a day, minimum. The more followers you have, the more likely they’ll click your links and purchase your products. Engaging with others can be as simple as retweeting a related post or commenting on a tweet. Make sure you’re friendly and helpful!

Increase Engagement with Influencers

One of the quickest ways to grow is through influencers. Bloggers already have a dedicated audience, so when you engage or collaborate with them, their following get’s introduced to your brand. Some of the ways you can engage with bloggers are by following them, commenting on their feeds or engaging in collaborative posts like gifted/sponsored posts. Collaborative posts give the bloggers a chance to try out your product or service and promote it on their blog and social media. This will give your brand more recognition, growing it further. You’ll find that their followers will end up on your website or social media, generating potential customers!

Drive Traffic To Key Pages

Social media is a great place to redirect people to your website. Creating links to your external pages will drive your traffic and following your website which will grow your business further. In between your typical product posts, promote your newsletter, plug your giveaway, or get your followers to become aware of a new product launch. Your social media may have 1000 readers, but that doesn’t mean they’re clicking on your website. Create clickable content that can divert your readers to key pages on your website, the pages that will earn you sales, or create awareness.

Create Engaging Content

When posting on social media, have feeds that encourage interaction. If you’re constantly updating your socials with new products or motivational quotes, it doesn’t give your audience a chance to engage. Try to post threads, questions, or polls regularly, as this encourages your following to engage with you, and allows you to engage as well. It will also make your account more friendly and shows your followers that you’re real people too. This will increase your brand awareness and grow your business because you’ll have real feedback from people. You can tailor your services and products to them, offer giveaways which increases traffic and allows your followers to decide things for you (like new flavors or scents!) 

Provide Valuable Information

You will gain a following when you create content that people find important and endearing. There needs to be value in the content you create and something that can’t be recreated by your competition. When growing your social media (and inevitably your business), make sure you’re creating posts that other users will find unique. If you’re providing things that others aren’t, you will gain more followers. If you’re approaching things differently, you will gain traffic. Provide information that others aren’t, and this is where you can use your USP to your advantage! When you post a motivational tweet, make sure it is something original. When you tell a fact, make sure it’s mind-blowing. With so many social media users, you need to stand out, so providing valuable information will allow you to be different.
