Today, we came up with a 5th interview in Bloggers Interviews series. Ashlee Nicole – LifeStyle Blogger sharing her blogging journey with TechnoVans. I really love her blog as she writes everything honestly about her life, failures, successes, etc. Let’s meet her!
Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog(s)?
My name’s Ashlee, I live in Virginia. I write a lifestyle blog. I never really liked English in school, but when I started my blog, it’s like I don’t mind what it looks like. Blogging/Writing feels relaxing, calming, and its’ a stress reliever. I have an amazing boyfriend, and I can’t wait till he asks me to marry him (Shhh don’t tell him that, LOL). My parents got divorced when I was young and I truly feel like it messed me up throughout my life, and only right now at the age of 30, I feel like I’m starting to learn my true self.
How will you introduce yourself in three words?
Caring, Compassionate, and Goofy
Describe how did you first get into blogging?
I came across an AD on Facebook about Start A Blog in 5 Days. I thought to myself and spoke with my boyfriend about it, and he said what are you going to write about. So, I thought for a couple of days and responded with about my life, what I’ve been through, and my successes. He said well if that’s what you want to do and you’re going to really put forth the effort, go for it! And there it was, the beginning to Ashlee Nicole Explained. I haven’t stopped since!
What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?
Honestly, I have gotten a lot of traffic from Twitter and the rest I think from my Facebook. A lot of people say Pinterest works for them, maybe I’m not doing it right, but I don’t have much traffic from there. I am very active in blog groups on Facebook and on Twitter, so that probably helps, too. And of course, word of mouth and networking is one of the classic and best methods of getting out there.

How are you currently monetizing your blog traffic?
Well funny you should ask because I have a couple of affiliates I’m working on as we speak. But currently not monetized… yet!
In the future where do you hope your blog will take you?
I want to help, influence, and interact with people who have been through what I’ve been through. I love makeup, so I want to show people how to do theirs or learn from them. I love to hear people’s life stories and what got them to where they are now.
What are the three blogs that you visit almost daily?
Currently, I am subscribed to quite a bit, but there are a few blogs that when their email comes in I click on it right then to see the new post.

What advice would you have for someone who is just starting with their first blog?
Get a planner/journal is the best thing I have done, which I didn’t get until about a month ago. Definitely worth it because you will begin to take notice that you need to write down a lot of things when it comes to this including blog ideas, when you’re going to put out a new post, what’s going on in your regular life, and so much more to jot down notes for a post. So basically reminders while out on the road or in the inconvenient times.
What do you think about my blog TechnoVans.com? What do you like about it and what improvements you will suggest?
I like it because it has so much information spreading across from what you need for beginners with a blog, to SEO info, and much more! It even covers your personal business of creative art designs to add a large array of topics. I love the layout of the web page also because you can find everything very easily. I don’t see any improvement right now!
What are the TOP THREE blogging tips you will share with our readers?
- My first one would have to be don’t get stuck on one post. That’s what I was saying about having a planner/journal so you can write multiple ideas down. So, when you get stuck writing one, BAM you already have an idea ready to go!
- Social Media is very important because you will meet amazing people who are willing to read your blog post, and you’ll be able to post your blog everywhere, all the time. The reach you can attain through social media is legit endless.
- Always be willing to learn more. Once you decide that you’re unteachable, then you become egotistical, and unfriendly in my opinion! “Jack of all trades, but master of none.”.
