#1 Choose right domain name for your blog

Domain name contributes an important part to your blog! The domain name is an identity of your blog.

I would suggest you choose .com domain extension over other like .net, .org, .info.

When we talk about the name, choose a short and sweet name. Keep your domain name short.

Your domain name should easy to Pronounce and spell like TechnoVans 🙂

Don’t use symbols, numbers in the domain name. NO for mylove143.com.

It will be better if you use the keyword of the niche you have chosen to blog about. It will help you in SEO of your blog, yes! Search Engines can easily rank your website/blog for the keyword used in the domain name.

Don’t overthink on it, your name as a domain is also the best option!

#2 Choose Best Blogging Platform

WordPress. I would suggest you go for a WordPress self-hosted blog and NOT the WordPress free blog.

Blogger is one of the blogging platforms for beginners. FREE. Blogger is easy to use. If you are going to start a blog as a hobby then GO for Blogger. If you have long term goal for blogging and having some specific business view then NO for Blogger.
Blogger is completely controlled by Google. There are certain restrictions for Blogger. You can’t do that much with Blogger beyond creating a standard blog and posting content.

WordPress, highly recommended for blogging. Many of the TOP Bloggers using WordPress as their blogging platform.
You can do a lot of things with your blog using WordPress. Wonderful themes, plugins are available. Doing On-Page SEO is very easy if you use the Yoast SEO plugin.
If you want to go with WordPress you will require a small amount of investment for HOSTING.

#3 Choose Clean Design ( theme ) for your blog

Clean means User-Friendly. Your theme will be the First impression on your readers.

For beginners, I would suggest you go with the FREE theme. Choosing a theme is depend upon the blog niche you have chosen and the style of your blogging.

#4 Write Unique Content

Write Unique Content. Very Very very IMPORTANT.

NEVER go for copy-paste style, if you want to become a successful blogger. Search engines don’t like duplicate content. Make sure that your blog is unique among the thousands of blogs exists for the same niche which you have chosen.

If you write the duplicate content ( copied from other websites/blogs ) you will lose your blog audience and hence the traffic. If you write unique content there will be the higher chances of your blog getting ranked on Google or other search engines.

#5 Write about the topic you love

If you write about the topic you love then you don’t need to copy the content from other websites/blogs. Just don’t write for the blog and audience. Write for you, your passion.

If you are good in Career Guidance then write about the same. If you are good at motivating people then write about the same.

Always choose a niche for blogging about which you have knowledge and experience.

#6 Solve Reader’s Problems

People don’t come to your blog just for entertainment. If anyone is coming to your blog then they are expecting some solution from your blog ( blog post ). Your article should resolve the problem of your readers. At least you should have some directions to the solutions of the reader’s problem in your blog post.

Solving readers problems will help you to get love from your readers and hence the traffic.

SEO friendly means Search engines can find your blog post easily and bring on TOP.

• Decide the Keyword around which you want to write the blog post. Your keyword should be at least 3-4 words ( long tail keyword ).
• Include your keyword in URL of the blog post.
• Include your keyword in Title of the Blog Post.
• Use the choosen keyword in article atleast 3 to 4 times.
• Use images ( at least one ) in your blog post along with the alt text value. Better if you use the keyword in alt text and image caption, description.
• Use headings and subheadings while writing a blog post. This will make your blog post more readable.

#8 Write consistently

Many of the bloggers start a blog, write first few posts say 10 posts in the first month and not for next one or two months. To keep your traffic increasing or consistent then you should write at least one post per week. Google loves the website which has new and unique content.

Blogging is an art and you need to keep it alive using writing consistently. If you don’t write consistently on your blog then you will lose your audience and hence the traffic. You can schedule your posts in the calendar, use Google Calendar. You can make daily notes on future posts. Note down that which time you are wasting, utilize that time for your blog post idea. And more important, don’t think too much on the idea, start writing!
