The following SEO strategies will help you to write SEO friendly blog post:

Use Long-Tail Keywords

First, decide the keyword for your blog post like in my case for this article is “SEO friendly blog post”. Don’t use or concentrate on one word or two-words keyword, use three to four words as a keyword in your blog post.
The reason behind using a long tail keyword is people always search for the keyword with 3 to 4 words.

Your URL should be SEO friendly. Use your keyword in URL of the blog post so that search engines can easily find your blog post when someone searches for the topic about which you are writing in your blog post.

The decided long-tail keyword should come into the URL of your blog post to get your blog post indexed in search engine. Don’t include irrelevant words in URL of your blog post.

WordPress having Permalink Settings available to set by default URL of the blog post. I would suggest you set it Post name instead of Plain.

Think like a reader when you are writing the title of the blog post. Think that as a reader what titles or headlines you like. Do the research on your previously written blog titles that which blog post got high traffic.

Meta Description

The meta description is very important to get your blog post indexed in search engines. Use your keyword in the meta description. The content which you are placing in meta description should be present in your blog post. It will be better if the meta description content is present in the first paragraph or at the very start of the blog post.
The meta description should not be too long or too less. Google allows us to put a maximum of 320 characters in meta description extra characters get truncated by Google.

  • While it’s helpful to include your keyword in your alt text, it’s also important to remember the original purpose of alt text to ensure that you are optimizing its use. This is the data used by screen readers to describe your images to the visually impaired. Picture having someone read your alt text to you with your eyes closed, do you picture the image?
